Kansas is home to mountain lions. According to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, there has been no conclusive evidence of a reproducing population in the state. However, there are some instances of young mountain lions showing up in the area.

Although Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Travel did not release mountain lions into Kansas in order to manage deer populations, it has never denied that they exist. The department has never implanted tracking chips in the lions.
