Peavine mountain biking trails offer a diverse range of riding options. From easy tours to black diamonds, there's something for everyone.

These trails are used by runners and hikers. Please be considerate.

The Poedunk Volunteers are doing an incredible job in building and maintaining trails. The system of trails is also the site of a wide range races and local events.

Poedunks (a non-profit volunteer organization) has done a great job in bringing attention to Peavine Mountain trails. Poedunk, a volunteer-run non-profit, has spent the past two decades installing about six miles Forest Service approved single track on Peavine Mountain.

These trails are enjoyable, durable, blend into the environment, and meet the standards established by the International Mountain Bicycling Association.

Trails are rerouted and reconstructed regularly to address issues that arise with erosion and other factors. Some trail work involves adding features to the trail, such as obstacles like whoops and rock obstacles, in order to improve its user-friendliness. Other work may involve updating signage and constructing strategic features to improve the trails overall user experience.

Peavine mountain trails are an excellent place to ride a bicycle, even when it's not the most pleasant of days. The trails, located near downtown Reno offer views of surrounding mountains and the city below.

Peavine Trails can be reached by following Leadership Parkway south and turning left onto McCarran Blvd. There are parking areas and trail access points along this route.


There are many options for public transportation in the region if you don't own a vehicle. Sierra Adventures also offers guided tours on their bikes.

On trails that are designated, off-highway vehicle use is allowed. There are a few trailheads on Peavine Mountain and the Dog Valley Area.

You can see wild horses and deer. Bikers can also enjoy the scenery in the Nevada wilderness.
